Sənədi 185 ölkə imzalayıb, 170 ölkə ratifikasiya edib. BMT ratifikasiya etməyən 8 ölkənin adını çəkir. Bu 8 ölkə əsas 44 ölkə sırasına daxildir. Sənədi ratifikasiya etmiş Rusiya ərazisində 29 monitorinq stansiyası fəaliyyət göstərir.
2021-ci ildə sənədin 25 illiyi tamam olur. Sənədin işə düşməsi üçün yuxarıda adı çəkilən 8 ölkə onu parlament səviyyəsində ratifikasiya etməlidir.
Dünya nüvə klubuna – atom silahı olan ölkələr klubuna 9 ölkə daxildir: ABŞ, Rusiya, Hindistan, Pakistan, Çin, Şimali Koreya, Fransa, Britaniya, İsrail. CAR, Qazaxıstan, Ukrayna, Belarus nüvə silahından imtina edib. NATO-nun Almaniya, İtaliya, Türkiyə, Belçika, Niderland, Kanada ərazisində nüvə silahı var.
CTBT beynəlxalq təşkilatdır (müqavilə). Bu müqaviləni ratifikasiya edən ölkənin ərazisində nəzarətçilər və qurğular yerləşdirilir. ABŞ və İsrail kimi ölkələr bu müqaviləni saya salmır. İran isə öz təhlükəsizliyini qorumaq üçün müqaviləni ratifikasiya etmir. Amerika və İsrail belə təşkilatlar vasitəsilə İranda casusluq edir. Bu günə qədər İranın nüvə stansiyalarından sızan məlumatlarda beynəlxalq təşkilatların nəzarətçiləri şübhəli sayılır.
