AFP xəbər verib ki, Avstraliya hökuməti cümə axşamı bütün HƏMAS hərəkatını terror təşkilatı kimi tanıdığını elan edib. Qeyd edək ki, Avstraliya daha əvvəl HƏMAS-ın hərbi qanadını terror təşkilatı adlandırmışdı.
Avstraliyanın daxili işlər naziri Karen Endryu bu addımın nə üçün edildiyini açıqlayaraq deyib: “Həmas və bu gün (terrorçu) siyahıda olan ekstremist qrupların fikirləri çox narahat edicidir və Avstraliyada onların mənfur ideologiyalarına yer yoxdur.”
Avstraliya hökumətinin qərarına əsasən, bu ölkədə HƏMAS-a maliyyə və ya digər yardımlar göstərildiyi halda, qanunu pozanlara 25 il həbs cəzası verilə bilər.
